The Difference Between Goji Berries and Those Other Health Fruits

Tuesday, November 6, 2007

I'm often asked what the difference is between Goji Juice and other juices like Mangosteen, Acai, and Noni. There are plenty of health drinks out there for you to choose from, and don't get me wrong, none of them are bad for you. So why should you choose Goji Juice over the others?

First, let's just talk a little common sense. Many people don't understand this, but plants, just like people and animals, have to fight to survive. They have to figure out how to overcome obstacles that threaten to destroy them, and how to persevere in less-than-favorable conditions. Unlike people, however, they can't put on coats if it's too cold, or turn on air conditioning or go to the fridge for cold drink if it's too hot, or simply grab a snack if they haven't eaten in a while. So how do plants deal with these problems?

Nutrition. To a plant, it's all about nutrition. They have to figure out how to provide for themselves the best possible nutrients so that they can weather the cold, the heat, drought, and other problems. They can actually adapt how they create and produce nutrients to help them adjust. The more severe a situation, the more they have to be able to produce powerful nutrients that will keep them strong.

So let's look at the other berries out there other than Goji. Acai berries, Noni, and Mangosteen berries all have one thing in common - they are tropical plants. How hard is it for a plant to grow and thrive in a tropical climate? It's a breeze. They have plenty of sunlight, warm temperatures that don't fluctuate very much, and plenty of moisture to go around. In other words, they don't have to adapt to anything, and they don't have to find ways to come up with extra nutrients to adjust to adverse situations. What happens if tropical plants are subject to temperatures below 30 degrees or so? They die. What happens if they are put in an extremely dry area for a long time? They die. They have no ability to cope.

Goji Berries, however, are different. They live in the Himalayan mountain region, one of the harshest climates in the world. They have to deal with temperatures well below freezing - other times they may have to adjust to stifling heat. They have to be able to deal with long periods of extreme drought and the occasional heavy rainfall. Unlike the other berries, however, Goji Berries survive - and they actually thrive! They have an amazing ability to produce overwhelming nutrition that enables them to adapt to nearly any situation and thrive. Indeed, the Goji Berry is revered in China as one of the most powerful adaptogens. How can it do that?

Goji Berries contain four powerful polysaccharides found in the right combination only in Goji Berries. They are actually able to sense, for example, if there is harmful mold in the soil, and adjust production of its lycium barbarum polysacharides to create a defense and protect itself. The harsher the environment, the more of these polyssacharides are produced, and the greater the health benefit they present. Freelife International has figured this out with their Spectral Signature, making them able to recognize the berries that produce the most of these polyssacharides, and they only get their berries from the harshest environments.

The Goji Berry isn't just another health fruit that makes a nutritious juice - it's a completely different animal, with health benefits that are unrivaled by any other health juice on the market, period.
