Goji and Kids!

The steady decline of health and nutrition in children is a problem that many people are just now starting to look at and take seriously. It doesn't take a scientific study to observe this case - look around at the lifestyles of the average child and you'll find a person who experiences an incredible lack of activity, very little, if any, nutrition coordination and an abundance of foods high in fat and calories. Now, let's be honest with ourselves - these days it's easy for ALL of us to miss out on enough exercise and nutrition. It's a simple side effect of the push for convenience, and while this isn't particularly good for anyone, it's a problem that has great potential to cause problems in children. Children are still developing - their bodies are not "finished" products yet, and the basic building blocks of their bodies are being constructed from what materials it receives. Unfortunately those materials aren't the healthy, strong things that we would like for them to be, and this can cause serious harm down the road.
An article on CBS news on the matter featured Dr. Richard Saphir, a noted pediatrician, who noted the problem: "The statistics, which you won't believe, are that in the last 30 years the amount of overweight children from 6 to 11 years of age have doubled. The amount of overweight in the 12 to 17 year age group has tripled. This has led to what used to be called, adult diseases, now coming out in children. We have a tremendous risk now, especially if there is any family history, of what's called, adult onset diabetes, Type 2 diabetes, starting in children."
Truly consider how terrifying the comment about diseases once found only in adults cropping up in children is. Adults, whose bodies are fully developed and capable, have a hard enough time coping with diseases such as diabetes and cardiovascular damage. A child, however, will only have a much harder time overcoming such obstacles - and then what effect will it have on their development?
Such questions are disturbing many who are noting the severely unhealthy lifestyles of children and what they see as a complete lack of understanding and effort on the part of parents.
It's thoughts and articles like these that make us so proud of our goji juice. Goji juice is, of course, by no means a complete nutritional fix for a child, but it is a very nutritional product with many wonderful health benefits that is fun and delicious to take. Imagine a healthy, nutritional change to your child's diet that, instead of having to force them to take, would have you putting up with the phrase "more please!"
